How do I start my own religion?

I think I'm pretty smart, and I'm ready to share my wisdom with the world. I have basically been following my own personal religion for many years (it's like a mixture of every religion, science plus some secret rituals) and since it's been working so well for me I think others might benefit from it. I want tax exemption status. But I also want a lot of followers so that we get a lot of interest...is a cult the way to go? Also, (and this is not a joke) and integral part of my religion is the book and movie, "Fight Club"...will I have to pay royalties to Chuck Palahniuk or the makers of the film? I don't think I can afford that. I don't want to charge people money to be a part of my church, that would be wrong.
